Regional Sales Manager, Food Ingredients

I have a variety of companies all looking for Food Ingredient Sales Professionals who live in the Midwest USA. You can live anywhere in the Midwest, work from a home office, with travel expected to be 25-50%, depending on the job. All jobs pay about the same, $80-100K base plus bonus. Some salaries could be higher, depending on the person. Bonus could be as little as 10% and as much as 50% of your base salary. All jobs include either a company car, car allowance or mileage reimbursement
Requirements vary, but are essentially the same:
5 years of outside sales experience calling on manufacturers of food and beverage products.
Must have sold functionally active food ingredients for at least 3 years (hydrocolloids, gums, thickeners, stabilizers, starches, phosphates, sorbates, citrates, acidulants, preservatives, vitamins, minerals, proteins, amino acids, omega 3s, digestible fiber, probiotics, enzymes, sweeteners, etc.).
Must have a 4 years degree. A degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Biology, Nutrition, or Chemistry is highly desired.
An advanced degree line a MS in Food Science or an MBA is a plus, but not required
We will consider people from R&D, Product Development, Applications, Technical Service, or Quality Assurance, so long as they have the desire for outside sales and have an outgoing, positive attitude, and a keen sense of how to close deals and negotiate prices and contract details.
Must not have ANY reservations with regards to travel. It is an outside sales position and as such, requires that you be in front of the customers as much as possible. Most sales people in these positions LOVE to travel and see it as a positive thing. They like to go to new places and meet new people. Sitting behind a desk all day is the last thing they want to do. Planes and airports do not bother them. Sometimes their car becomes their office.
The most desirable candidates are those that currently sell value-added ingredients, manage a regional territory, and have excellent, close contacts in both R&D and Purchasing at F&B manufacturers.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
