Purpose:
Regional Sales Manager for North American Regional accounts has the responsibility for formulating sales strategies, product insertion strategies, penetrating customer accounts and growing revenue within in the assigned region This position is based in the US.
Responsibilities:
Regional Sales Managers (RSMs) are responsible for selling into both new and established Calix Customers. Perspective Calix RSMs must have a high level of insight into the Network Service Provider marketplace from a business and infrastructure perspective including intimate knowledge of the customers, their business models, technology, and competitors. Successful RSMs are rewarded with both opportunity and one of the most aggressive total compensation packages in the industry.
Build and maintain relationships with customers at all levels of the organization, influencer of long-term strategic direction, and act as a trusted advisor and influencer
Strong knowledge of regional IOC's, MSO's, electric coop's, muni's and CLEC's and how equipment is ordered in the region required.
Must have a strong relationship and detailed knowledge of the Planning and CSO Engineering groups within the region.
Must understand account strategy and demonstrated experience building strategies to beat access competitors.
Must understand the resource commitment required to effectively train and support the region.
Ideal candidate would have previous experience successfully bringing in a new access product into service provider networks.
Top sales performer and history of exceeding sales quota.
Detailed understanding of the access network and demonstrated success selling access products.
Creating detailed product penetration, account and insertion strategies and plans that are reviewed quarterly
Meeting/Exceeding yearly Bookings and Revenue objectives
Building a best-in-class sales team
Qualifications:
BSEE/BSCS or equivalent technical field or equivalent practical experience
Candidates must have a selling background, which includes a minimum of 5-10 years in IP, ATM, TDM internetworking, transmission, switching and service creation and provisioning.
Prospects require a sound track record of continuous customer success and results.
Candidates must be competitive, cooperative, and work well with customers both internal and external.
80% travel throughout the region is a must
